lots of folks from both parties voted for jim crowe laws too. keep going back, i'm sure you can find examples of all kinds of deplorable behavior

you do realize that the platforms from the era of the 1860's, when the KKK was founded, Democratic Party and today's Democratic Party are pretty much exactly flipped, right?
you should read up on William Jenning Bryan and how was pretty instrumental in the Republican and Democratic Parties basically trading platfoms...
so to spell it out for you the Dems of 1860 would be like your Republican Party of today, and the same is true on the other side.... your 1860's Republican would be more of your regular Democrat of today.... trying to pin the formation of the KKK on the Democratic Party, while being ignorant of this fact does little to bolster your argument....
