If you look at the late 80's and early 90's during the Action Comedy run nearly every damn one was written by Shane Black who was a master at it, His directing has been good except for Iron man 3.

But there have been a few action comedies that have been good since that run

Both Jump Streets
The other guys
The nice guys (shane black again)
Hot Fuzz
Both Bad Boys

You make a fair point. I've seen all of those movies except The Nice Guys, and enjoyed all of them.

I didn't realize that Shane Black was the common thread to those.

The Nice Guys is awesome in this catagory as elrl.
