Supposedly Aaron wasn't doing well along the d line and knew his only shot for playing time at LSU was on offense. Props to him for being a team player.

So why would he be more likely to get playing time on offense with at least 3 other TE's in front of him? Can he play guard eventually?

We should take such reports with a grain of salt. It may just be he doesn't project to play a lot on the defensive side, perhaps ever, with the talented DEs we've recruited and continue to recruit.

The switch to 3-4 has been less painful than many of us (myself included) thought. We went from a lot of question marks, particularly at NG and ILB and now we have an embarrassment of riches, at least relative to guys in the trenches on offense.

We're converting most FBs and TEs to some sort of H-back, but there is still some value to blocking TEs. Roddy and Moffitt are young enough, and big enough already to project a possible move to interior linemen on the offensive side, should either or both go that way.

Weathersby (although, admittedly, he always projected as a tackle coming out of HS) made the transition to OT. It's possible Roddy will (in a year or so). Likewise, Moffitt probably not a tackle's frame, but could gain 25 to 30 pounds over the next couple of seasons and be a contributer at guard and/or center as a junior/senior.
