So, generally that is a obligatory nice thing to say, but:
1) We did that in WWII and what happened there?
2) We missed opportunities to get BinLaden and what happened? I know not a war, but a "kind" deferral that bit us in the arse big time.
3) Might add Cuba in there too just for kicks...we turned it over to volunteer rebels and the Cuban people lived in Communist exile for the next 65 yrs...oh, and wait they still do.
It's an easy thing to say, but not always the best selection, at least that's where I stand.

Yet again, what do we owe the Cuban people? What over there is worth having Americans die?
