Alx:
Please don't take this the wrong way. I know from your posts you're intelligent and analytical. And I have inferred from others' posts that you're an attorney (more evidence you're intelligent, 'cause law school isn't for dummies).
So, I have to ask how reliability, for you, is a non-issue ("not required").
If you were buying a target/plinking pistol (say a .22 semi-auto), I'd agree that reliability is rarely a concern (because defective guns just get shipped back to the manufacturer).
But I'm assuming (Yeah, I know what they say about "assume."
) that since you're looking at 9mm, some level of self defense might be envisioned for one of those pistols. (I mentioned reliability earlier because it's of paramount importance for SD weapons.)
Anyway, I'm just curious. If you prefer to not respond, I won't be offended. If you'd prefer to reply in a non-public manner, my email is guntraining@att.net
In any event -- good luck in your search.

I just don't think my 1911 will ever be used for self defense. Even if it is, reliability isn't an either or. Chances are, it will fire.
Anyway, just walked out with a Walther CCP and a Ruger SR1911 9mm.
