Could it have anything to do with most of these states listed probably has a big population of big trucks pulling boats rv's campers, elec at camp sites, etc

Heating the way WE heat down here does, using our HVAC System.

Not the case if you have a furnace in the house and heating oil etc. Like in Christmas Story.

Depends on what your heating medium is, method of heating, etc. Many factors.
