(AP) Free-agent guard Ian Clark has agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources told The Vertical. Clark was one of the top unrestricted free agents remaining and should be a significant shooting addition for the Pelicans. New Orleans signed guard Rajon Rondo this offseason and had focused on adding a versatile shooter, with Clark emerging as a priority. Clark received strong interest from several teams on the market, but he should have an ideal role alongside a pass-first guard in Rondo and two of the league’s best big men in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. Clark was a backup guard for the NBA champion Golden State Warriors last season. He averaged 6.8 points and 1.2 assists last season while shooting a career high 37.4 percent from 3-point range. Clark has played four NBA seasons for the Warriors, Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. He went undrafted out of Belmont in 2013 and has carved a niche in the league as a sharpshooting combo guard.
