What's doubly irritating about this is how much effort does go into what most people consider in the connotation "smart."
Sure genetic gifts are a part, but a LOT of it comes from how you think, and the perspectives you take, and the effort to better yourself.
Example: even if your intelligence allows you to easily retain information, you still have to make an effort to attain it, and practice how to apply it to the world.
But this opens up for the lazy frickers blaming the world for their failures just another avenue for it.

Some philosophers claim that Free Will does not exist. Therefore, no one is responsible for their intelligence or morality. No one ever is to blame because it is not our fault that Tyrone got hooked on meth and little johnny cannot memorize the alphabet.
