The Patriot received no critical acclaim and received no accolades whatsoever, for good reason.

The Patriot was actually nominated for 3 Academy Awards (Cinematography, Original Score, and Sound Mixing). And it's actually only six points lower than The Avengers on Metacritic. It received decent reviews upon its release. Just don't use the film in history class when you are discussing the Revolutionary War.

I'll give credit where it's due and say it was well shot and nice to look at. I was surprised it had a 60 something rating on Rotten Tomatoes too. Look I hated it but that's my opinion. Y'all are welcome to like it. I just don't think people should confuse it for some serious drama deserving of an Oscar as opposed to a summer action movie set in the Revolutionary era. Agree to disagree.
