However, they don't see Chapman consistently, but when you've seen two other relievers that throw 98-101 then you know what to expect from Chapman. It isn't like he developed a off speed pitch to fool you

you also dont expect to only see the high velocity thrown for strikes 4 straight times. you see that once or twice at bat and even then, its not like you see them for strikes all the time

he is using his off speed pitches more times this year than he ever has. hes used his fastball at a lower rate than he ever has by face

and once again, if hitters have gotten used to that level of velocity, i dont see why chapman would be the only pitcher affected
