I have a friend that has a brother with Downs. We talked about his disability several times and he said that a big problem that has'nt been mentioned yet is that he doesn't understand boundaries. For instance, whenever my friend brings a girl over to his parents house, the Downs brother gets very excited that a girl is around. Without fail, the girls is extremely nice to the kid so he immediately begins being 'best friends' with her and completely monopolizes her time as well as being way too touchy feelly with hugs and holding hands and stuff like that. It's innocent, but it makes the girls very uncomfortable around him. I can only imagine how awkward this would be for everyone involved.
