The rematch doesn't bother me, but the fact that it could be rivals takes some of the luster off the regular season matchup.

The rematches in the SECCG were never between Auburn-Bama, Florida-Georgia, etc. The rivalries within the division are most intense when compared to cross-divisional ones.

I also hate that the Big 12 is on shaky ground. As a traditionalist I'm tired of losing rivalry games because of super conferences. So why if Texas goes PAC 12 and SEC gains Okie State and OU. That means LSU gets to forge rivalries within the state of Oklahoma every year and travels to traditional SEC places like Athens and Knoxville once every 20 years. That sucks...

Do you not know your school' history

They had the chance to play UGA every year and they declined.

This so much. My school has lost rivalries with Pitt, VT, Penn State and Maryland because of conference realignment and it sucks.

Conference realignment in general sucks. No way we should be in the Big 12, Maryland in the Big 10, Mizzou in the SEC, Colorado in the PAC, etc.

I think a auburn-uga or UT-bama LSU/auburn-Florida* SEC title would be awesome. It's different because it's much more rare.

If the big 12 remains the same 10 teams UT-OU could happen fairly often.

*i understand that those Florida matchups aren't as big of rivals. I just want the LSU-Florida game to increase salt levels and also see auburn/Florida play more

And the SEC ends up in some odd situations from time to time. Bama-UF in the SEC championship game in 2008-2009 led up to lots of offseason talk for the regular season game when it rolled back around in 2010. We all know Florida went on that run after Tebow cried in 2008 after the Ole Miss loss. Then Alabama made him cry again in Atlanta in 2009.

While not a traditional rivalry game that happens every year, it was starting to feel like it. In 2010 they were both preseason top 5, and all of the offseason talk was it didn't really matter who won in October, it was all about the rematch in December and who would be conference champs. Of course Florida got demolished by Alabama, then lost the next two to LSU and MSU, and lost two more down the stretch. It sort of cheapened the regular season game some.
