You offer no solutions other than tax raises or other revenue raising (tolls) as opposed to calling for fiscal accountability.
Good Lord, man. When have I never called for accountability? I was very excited about Abramson's bill to strengthen the trust fund to make sure that the road money was going where it was supposed to go. It was an effort to do exactly what people like you bitch about, i.e., create accountability. But no, it's still a tax, so hell naw I ain't votin for it.
I have not heard you offer any solutions on how to pay for a billion dollar bridge. Since you live in Erwinville, I'm assuming you agree that one needs to be built.
ETA: My SIL and BIL live in your hood (I was there yesterday), and they both commute to the LSU vet school every day. They spend retarded amounts of time in traffic every single day. I travel through BR and across the river on a weekly basis. So it's not like I'm just sitting here pontificating about something I know nothing about.

If my hostility towards taxes and tax supporters has blinded me to your calls for accountability, I apologize. most of your posts I remember are about state funding, be it for LSU or a gas tax/road tax. And you're usually calling for/supporting a tax. Im going to oppose you on that issue every time. On fiscal accountability, we can agree.
And yes, as a resident of WBR, I certainly agree another route over the River is needed. I like the idea of toll roads- that's why I have a HCTRA toll tag in my windshield and gladly pay to use those roads in TX.
But Louisiana has done nothing to convince me that it can mange a toll road any better than my tax dollars. Look around Slippy. There isn't much one can look at in this state and be confident that the powers at be will
Manage it properly. I have zero faith in our politicians. Until they gain my trust, I don't want to give them more money.
I can empathize with your and your family's commuting woes. Id like to be able to run my weekend errands without worrying about the bridge, same as you. But I know more money isn't the answer. And until we have a huge cultural shift in government (no more cronyism, corruption) and get more accountability, my opposition won't change
