Teachers who do this don't do it for the sex. It's all about power and manipulation as it relates to self-image. They can control and manipulate a high schooler far easier than they can an adult. Additionally, being fawned over by someone younger reinforces their own positive self-image, as they crave attention and external compliments.

If it were me, I'd divorce the whore and thank God that I no longer was with someone so unstable that she was willing to throw away her family and career for someone not even through puberty.
