Christina Desiderio who was suppose to be in the 18 class has just announced she is entering LSU a year early!!!! She will be on campus in a month! She has officially ended her elite career!
This is major news as she is one of the best gymnasts in the country!!!!
She competed as an elite gymnast and was apart of the US Olympic trials! A national team member for years as well!
Will likely be an immediate impact on Beam and Floor!!!
She really can come in and start putting up big scores much like Gnat on floor!
Floor Routine
Beam Routine
SHE IS 16 RIGHT NOW

Fantastic News!!! She is AWESOME!!! Will miss Ashley, but these new additions sure help. And if Lexie can stay injury free this year, I expect huge things from her as well!

It'll be interesting how to see who we will bring in next year. I'm sure we have something lined up.

Looks like a 4 or 5 star gymnast. (If they would rank them)
Good pick up.
Good pick up.

She would be a 5 star recruit if they do have stars
We will now have 5 new faces next season!

What appeared to be a slight rebuilding year or at least restructuring now seems to be another chance to go for the title. They lost a superstar and 2 other stars and the Tiger train just keeps on roaring. Of course lots of things have to happen for them to win it all, but who knows, what if Oklahoma has this year's Friday night showing in the Super Six? There are no givens in sports and you just do your best and see what happens.

I just updated and I added some videos of her routines.
LSU does have a legit shot to compete for a national title. Its horrible to say this but Ewing and Zamardi's scores can easily be replaced. Losing Gnat was what hurt.
But after all of these additions we look like we can definitely compete for a title. We have the talent that can do it.
On vault we need to replace Ewing and Gnat. I expect Priessman (if healthy) to compete her 1 1/2. Kelley and a couple of freshman should compete for that other spot. We really need to keep pushing the 1 1/2 vaults, the extra .05 we pick up from difficulty is huge and is why LSU puts up big scores.
Bars we only lose Zamardi, I am going to predict Durante to step in and put up big scores on bars. Extremely clean. We need to reconstruct Ruby's routine, way too much difficulty, which is why she gets hammered.
Beam, I expect Lauren Li, Christina Desiderio, and Reagan Campbell will all compete for the last two beam spots. We won't miss a beat here at all, we might actually be improved to be honest.
Floor, I actually think we can be better. Desiderio, Dean, and Edney will all be able to step in and make a splash for sure.
Kelley will put up Gnats scores this year and I expect Christina to put up major numbers on floor.
Only concern for the team next year is replacing two good vaulters. That will be the biggest question marks as we already have the pieces to be just as good on every other event

The biggest X factor won't be talent. It will be the ability to live in the moment and never let the moment become too big. The last two teams had incredible leadership from the three seniors who were tremendous influences on the younger gymnasts. The torch has been passed and the bar has been raised and it will be interesting to see how quickly this team establishes its identity.

One thing you can say about this years sophomore and junior class, they don't let the nerves get to them like other past teams. Ruby and Edney can hit with their backs on the wall which is nice. I think Christina of all of them will be most prepared but the others haven't competed in a while so thats my concern.
Other than Gnat, Ewing a lot of times was a complete mess in the post season for whatever reason, she had nice routine on something then just meltdown on another. Ewing and Zamardi let the nerves get to them in Super Six. I think that in large part really changed the entire teams mentality and confidence that night.
