I'd argue that the Cardinals are set-up for the next 5-10 years better than any other team in the division. Solely because of the pitching they have coming through.
No other team in the central can match the pitching they have (either young on the big league roster or coming through the system).
Offense is another story as they don't have anyone coming up other than Kelly or Sierra. But pitching is what keeps teams competitive.
Now as long as Matheny is manager none of this matters so they could just be spinning their wheels for the next 3,4,5 years.
