I've worked out a new system for a few areas. I score fewer points and unless my team is good get more kills. Basically a one man home turf protection
Works for
Moray towers - bonus here because it gives your team a distant but safe quick jump point
Ink art academy
The reef
I got to level 20 with aerospray weapon this way and leveled up so quickly because I was almost always on the winning team
Doesn't work for
Shipyard

Humpback pumptrack

I think I have a bit of a system for Moray Towers and the Humpback Pump Track, but I really just try to mix it up and hold the center. If it looks like that's a lost cause, I'll try to get into enemy territory and wreak havoc, since every point you put down is also one taken from the other team.

Seriously, though, that looks even cooler than the Bridge level from the first game. For all of their faults, Nintendo has a stellar track record for consistently rolling out free DLC for this game. New weapons each week, new maps practically monthly, etc. A lot of other developers have charged much more for much less, content-wise. I wish there were a gear reward for winning the SplatFests, or something tangible.
I hope that they listen to the community and work out the annoying details on the multiplayer side. Honestly, there's ZERO excuse for not being able to play on the same team with your friends consistently. The warts this game has are totally fixable.

Despite having never played salmon run because it's never open, I have to say this is one of the most hopelessly addicting games I've ever played

Once you start in with SR, it's hard to quit. It's a great way to make money, once you get over about 400-500 pts for the shift.

I've listened to enough podcasts to know that nintendo is gating this game in such a head scratching fashion. Everyone seems to love it, but what gives?

Game Trailers review says, "It's like Nintendo hasn't ever played a game they didn't make".
I've waxed poetic on here about my frustrations with the game. Still play it, but I'm not going to lie and say that there isn't hope that someone bumps their head and gets it right, eventually.

I haven't played S2 yet, but I'll say that the grouping and MP was the most frustrating part of the first game, and I complained about it nonstop even while sinking countless hours into the game (because it's so freaking fun).
The gameplay is soo good. There's soo much potential for real tactical team play in MP. I mean, it could be a legitimate esports game, imo. But as long as they keep screwing up the way that grouping works in multiplay and basically disallowing organized teams from playing, it's going to just be a "fun" game, when it could be so much more.
That being said, truly organized teams in splatoon who coordinate would just wreck non-coordinated teams. You'd almost have to have ANOTHER mode that you could enter where organized teams are only playing against other organized teams.

I'm all about the edges, especially when everyone is packing it in the middle. Get behind them and paint their whole territory while they're not looking.

Yeah, I'll always try to get on their side and ink it up. When the other team respawns and then goes to cover it again, it keeps them from advancing.

I forced myself to wade through a couple of different weapons last night - Tri-Slosher, Sploosh-a-Matic, Tentatek Splattershot, and a few others. It was a mixed bag, but I felt like I couldn't get nearly the coverage I do with the Aerospray.
