I have a 3 month old puppy and just went through the period you did. Crate training is the best option. Still working on the accidents, but they're pretty much completely eliminated now. He hasn't pooped in the house since the first night. He just sits at the door and either scratches or waits until I come let him out.

You'll have some setbacks, but the key is being consistent. Very cliche, but the accidents usually happen when the schedule is messed up.
