as far as different American accents/dialects, I've always liked the Georgia and South Carolina accents. I think both are distinct and usually can pick up on it if talking to a native of either state

There are a variety of Southern dialects. You have your dying (and almost dead) Tidewater/Charleston non-rhotic, Scarlett O'Hara one. The hard rhotic, poor grammatical Appalachian one. A Cumberland Plateau (southern TN, northern AL and MS) one. Black Belt dialect that changes between race, usually, that runs through the MS Delta from LA to mid GA. A Deep Southern one that runs just above the coast from MS up to SC. A distinct Gulf one, too, with the addition of NO as a weird port city accent.

I love a very thick southern accent on an educated woman. It's like music to my ears after a few years out west. But if it's thick and they are not well educated, it just sounds trashy.

Worst accent on a woman is either the Appalachians or Jersey/West Bank (Sorry west bankers, it's damn near identical. I've known girls in Nola from Philly that couldn't tell them apart)
