The existence of cameras is a double edged sword that often helps to exonerate officers.
On a separate note, all public officials, especially those with the legal authority to shoot USA citizens (in certain situations), should be held to a standard FAR more extreme than that of any normal citizen.
They should be recorded at all times.

Not having a body cam on should be a fireable offense.
