I hope he catches on with a team... does anyone know if he signed one of the new two way contracts for the G-League (Gatorade League former Developmental League)... each NBA team can sign two players for up to two years as long as they have less than 3 years of experience (including G-League). They get 75K for the year which compares to 25k for other G-League players and they don't count towards the 15 players on the NBA roster. They can be brought up and down but after I think 42 days of service time they have to be added to the NBA roster... If they are brought up they get prorated NBA minimum... This is the first year this two way contract is in existence and it will really help borderline players as the NBA team keeps your rights and has some amount of flexibility and desire to develop your game... Bulls would be a good spot for Blakeney as would like the Mavericks or even the Lakers...

a Cody Worsham article on Tigerrag last month
quote:
Blakeney performed well as a primary option with little offense created for him, knocking down 41.4 percent of his shots off the dribble per Synergy Sports – second in the SEC only to likely lottery pick Malik Monk.
That off-the-bounce figure improved to an SEC-best and top-10 nationally 55 percent in spot up situations – those came infrequently in a system in which Blakeney was the primary creative force. That Blakeney got just 16 uncontested looks all year (he hit 10 of them, good for an SEC-best 62.5 percent on such attempts)

He has the athletic traits to support what he does well. I wanted to see him handle it more (which apparently didn't happen last year) I know they told him he'd play some point. Could be a more gifted (scoring wise) Keyon Dooling type.
