Actually, Attack of the Clones had finished filming for five months when they started shooting Catch Me If You Can. But I get your point. If Leo was in Star Wars, he wouldn't have been able to appear in Gangs of New York which had an enormous impact on his career. Scorsese later casted him in four more films and three of those films ended up being nominated for Best Picture and garnered Leo two Oscar nominations. If Leo was tied up with Star Wars, he wouldn't have been able to appear in Gangs of New York and The Aviator and Scorsese likely would have chosen another actor as his muse. It would have changed his career completely.
