Children are a bit different than women.
Personally I think beatings only come from stupid parents. My parents got extremely creative on my punishments, like having me get up at 4:00 in the morning to do yard work and then having me jog around the neighborhood at 6:00 AM while they rode in the golf cart. My parents never beat me, but I wish they did over that shite.
