Comey testified that he hadn't included classified information in the memos that were released to the public.

The Hill published a story noting that some of Comey's memos contained classified information raising question of DOJ violations. Trump tweeted that what he'd done is illegal.

Later reporting from the source Comey sent the copy of the memo that the NYT reported on (that triggered the SC investigation) was that the memo was marked as unclassified. Comey himself acknowledges some of his memos to self contained classified info but maintains none was included in the memo sent to his friend at Columbia. He's said the originals are all with Mueller.

Politico cites an unnamed source that says some of the information in the memo reported on was "retroactively classified", suggesting it was not classified when Comey wrote it, but was later made classified (which seems pointless since it already became public).
