I mean, even Russell Westbrook wasn't that great in college. He barely played as a freshman and scored 12 points a game in his 2nd and final year.
Deandre Jordan was nothing special either.
For football, Robert Kelley and Thomas Rawls had pretty mediocre careers, Rawls barely saw the field before he transferred to CMU.
Trevor Siemian was splitting time his senior year at Northwestern and got a legit first string NFL QB job. Joe Flacco's college career was pretty unspectacular. His IAA stats at Delaware weren't that good even.
Robbie Gould wasn't even an above average college kicker and had one of the greatest NFL careers ever.

For Football Willie Parker is the best example. He was 3rd or 4th string on some terrible UNC teams

It's really hard to do this with college basketball players- everyone knew Westbrook was a baller and he just needed to work on this midrange game. He was an excellent defender at UCLA and could get to the rim when he wanted. The NBA is a different game- guys that stay 1 or 2 years in college but are freak athletes shouldn't surprise anyone.
I remember being at Pauley Westbrook freshman year and him teabagging a 7ft center. I have loved him ever since.
