I think that the "morality" that originates from the text is skewed by fundamentalists and general morons that make shite up.
Of course, I am honestly not your typical Christian, either. Never heard God or Jesus speak to me, am scared shitless when "tongues" are spoken (that's another topic), and there are other things. I do, however, feel like some things that have happened in my life recently, both good and bad, don't really have a worldly explanation that I know of.
