Still don't have a legitimate/competent QB so....

Legitimate/competent? Yes.
Elite? No

Fun fact. If Etling equals his production of last season he will be the 10th ranked all time for LSU in passing yards. That's kind of depressing.

Regardless what you think about the HC,

What? The head coach is the face of the program. We hired a 55 year old career position coach that has never run a successful offense, defense,or program.

You would be laughing at any program that took lsu's dline coach and made him a head coach. Hell we gave Auburn shite for hiring our DC to be their DC.

When O starts to win you'll see the rhetoric tone down. Until then we hired the worst coach in ole miss history.

Definitely a lot to be excited for and just as many unknowns...

Not so sure about Key - that's a strange situation

Excited nonetheless!

'm personally thinking this team will need 2-3 years before we can reach a really high level. 2-3 recruiting classes under Orgeron to get who he wants and by that time the young QBs should've developed.

nonsense. We've had elite recruiting classes every year and have two stud QB prospects as freshmen this year.

O doesn't need 2-3 years - we have plenty of talent and now (apparently) a much better OC who can actually utilize our talent. We can win big immediately, and better, because O won't get much of a honeymoon.

Offensively you have to be at least somewhat hopeful that Canada can revamp the offense to at least make opponents actually have to gameplan our offense.
There will definitely be an improvement, but LSU will never be an SEC Champion/Elite "Bama" type program until the Offensive Line situation is fixed. (Coaching/Recruiting/Scheme)

I think Orgeron is giving Grimes one last season to see what he can do without LM micro-management and interference, but I don't think he's what we need to evolve and become Elite.

You have to pour the foundation before the house is built and the LSU OL foundation has too much sand in the cement mix. If you don't get the blend correct, it's going to crack and fall apart.

That's why I don't think the Offense is going to be as good as it could be, even with Canada taking over. The physical talent is just not there. There are too many "UL-L, UL-M, McNeese, Tulane" caliber OL's on the LSU roster currently and unless a few of the true freshmen show up and kill it in Fall practice, it's going to keep the Offense from reaching full potential.
