I grew up in a fairly rural suburb but live in the city now. I just couldn't stand spending 2-3 hrs per day in traffic. I would absolutely live in a small town or on the side of a mountain if I no longer had to work.

I live pretty far out (for Memphis) but am still in a neighborhood. Have a great house and really love the neighborhood but would move in a heartbeat if I could. As long as the kids are in the school system we will likely stay put.
