We brought out A team pretty much to the last Gold Cup. What's the difference with this one? It looks more like a roster auditioning for a World Cup squad spot. Is it because the gold cup is now every two years? Is it because no Jurgy?

A few reasons. Mexico's A team is at the Confederations Cup. We just had qualifiers, so starters need a break. Possible last chance for some guys to enter the conversation of being on the WC roster. Etc.

If we brought the A team, most wouldnt have had a summer free of a national team tourny commitment in a while.

We had the must-win Gold Cup, followed by last years Copa, and the WC is next year. Thats alot of summer mins.

its always been every two year bc its a money grab

its usually one cycle is A squads from the US and Mexico and one cycle is B/C.

The confederation is trying to stop this by making that playoff match for the confederations cup.
