Maybe. What I would like to see is pay the cops a whole lot more money since they put their lives on the line every single day. Then as you attract a higher quality individual hold them more accountable.

Before I retired, I made a whole lot more money than most cops, and I did not have to put my life in jeopardy.

This just isn't true statistically in the micro. Which is in large part why they don't get paid. They're not nearly as necessary as we pretend they are, at least not in the number that we currently have them.
