How much does your girl weigh will and how active is she?
My dog eats like a damn horse. She's a pit/lab/boxer mix, sits right around 55lbs.
Frickin fatty eats 3 cups of food a day and doesn't gain a pound.

As of last week, she weighs 62.8 lbs. She's just over 2 years old. Last year, after looking at her records, she weighed 55 lbs. Vet thinks she is done growing. She's fairly tall for her size (more legs than width).
Very active. We go to the dog park a couple times a week for several hours and try to walk daily in between.

Mine gets 3 cups per day. 1 1/2 in the morning and 1 1/2 in the evening. She has to rest for 1.5 hours after eating to prevent the chance of "bloat."

That's a good thing. The better you can keep them in shape early on, the better quality of life they will have and won't have to carry that extra weight around as they age.
