Maybe, but this move reeks of a setup.

It's to clear cap for SOMETHING and got another 2nd for something.

It's part 1 of a plan of some sort.

I've heard that before with Derps and it's usually just fans speculating and creating ways to feel better about shitty moves he makes.

ETA - Moving Frazier doesn't affect the needle, but I just don't believe anything Dell does is part of a grand scheme. If it is, it's mostly a fantasy.

I hear what you're saying but they are clearly looking to dump and acquire easily movable free assets.

Trying to use 2nds to move QPon/Ajinca most likely.

Last month there was a new Boss Stern interview where he talked about the vetoed trade and Stern himself said they had a 1st lined up for Odom, something you've always dismissed as fan fiction.

On the podcast, Stern said he felt the trade could have been reworked but said talks fell apart when Kupchak traded Odom days after the original deal was vetoed.

"In the course of the weekend, we thought we could redo the deal," Stern said. "We really thought that Houston would be ready to part with [Kyle] Lowry, and we had a trade lined up for Odom that would have gotten us a good first-round draft pick. Not we, but my basketball folks.
