I've had several motorhomes/camper trailers both bumper and 5th wheel and the Airstream is a first class product that holds it's resale value well.
For what you are looking at in a Airstream you can buy a new Scamp 5th wheel. The Scamp is all fiberglass and holds resale value as well as an AS and with it being a 5th wheel pulls much better. Another reason I bought a Scamp over the others is the bed is over the hitch and you never have to take down the seating area to make your bed ever night.
This link is for the Scamp, it's your choice and you will have to like it but there are other options out there with the same quality.

i did look at those, i'm leaning bumper for a few reasons:
1) my truck doesn't have a bed mount at the moment
2) i'd like to keep the bed free/open for storage while we are on the road
3) i'd like the option of a bed mounted rack that would be like a combo travel storage and camp kitchen/etc type thing
if we are going to overpack (a certainty if you know my wife) i'd rather load the truck bed than the trailer
