His plan was backwards imo.
Jp should have started game 1. Senior 4 year starter on verge of being the all time winningest pitch in school history. If they would have lost both games he did t make a start.
AL should have started game two. Pivot game and probable playing number one team that has lost 4,games. Pitcher with best stuff, if game one lost...lose go home...win days of rest and win bracket, but if he had control issues like Saturday, OSU walks away big again. Walker gets more rest and poche ready to start.
I'm sure they were confident in walker to be able to pitch, and aurguibly the best pitcher down stretch, but not 100% appernetly. He could have kept last night game close. Still one run wasn't going to beat any team out there.
The master plan not start JP and possibly lose two games and not start a guy who could end up being the all time winningest pitcher in school history is a flawed approach, run support or not.
