A U.S. strike aircraft shot down a Syrian government fighter jet shortly after it bombed U.S.-backed Syrian fighters in North Syria, the Pentagon said in a statement Sunday. The Pentagon said the shoot-down came hours after Syrian government-backed forces attacked U.S.-backed fighters, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces, in the village of Ja’Din. As the attack unfolded, the U.S. military used a deconfliction channel to communicate with the Syrian government to stop the skirmish, according to the Pentagon statement. Roughly two hours later, despite the called-for stand down, a Syrian Su-22 jet dropped an unknown number of munitions on the Syrian Democratic Forces. A U.S. F/A-18 promptly shot the Syrian aircraft down “in accordance with rules of engagement and in collective self-defense of coalition partnered forces,” the Pentagon statement said.

Why would Putin order Trump to shoot down a plane of his ally?

Navy needs to stick to getting destroyed by cargo ships and leave the air to air shite to the Air Force. Mission creep has caused them to be unreliable in their primary role

As if Trump had anything to do with this.

He must certainly does.
He is the one that gave his generals the authority to make these quick decisions.
If this happened in Obama land, then we would have apologized for syria bombing us

Just like every president before him.

Trump authorized the DoD to arm the Kurdish wing of the SDF to "defeat ISIS". The real answer has to do with oil and money.

Next time let OUR missiles be the warning, instead of waiting for them to kill our ally. They have made it clear they are not listening so send them a message they can't possibly avoid hearing

There's a nice map in the Business Insider article, " US-led coalition aircraft shoots down Syrian fighter jet near Raqqa"
Iran apparently bombed ISIS at Deir ez-Zur, also today.
The al Tanf bombing was from June 6.
And this is Syrian Kurdistan:
Some places cite the SDF as being 60% Arab, but it's usually also cited as a Kurdish-dominated force, with the U.S.-backed Kurds taking the lead role in the liberation of Raqqa.
This article was from two days ago: " Spirits high among Kurds in Syria as coalition battles for Raqqa."
The big take-away here, once again, is that the pro-Assad forces would rather bomb the Syrian rebels than ISIS.
