No doubt Beal is still in play. What happened with Allen will blow over. LSU did what was right when we found out that TCU had inappropriate conduct with him. Any team should do the same.
This year on the field is going to be the ultimate sign of how this class will unfold. Offensively we need to show a massive change that shows results on the field; defensively we should be just as good as last year in my opinion.

I agree about the need to perform offensively.
Defense is going to be interesting. Year 2 of a new system typically means improvement. Losing as many talented players as LSU did (Adams, White, Beck, Duke, Godchaux, Neal, Bower, Jefferson, Thomas, etc.) usually means a step back.
Also have to factor in how a change in offensive scheme impacts the defense.

The 6'7 kid from Meridian, that went to Bama who was also said to be raw also. Turned out to be a pretty good player who cracked Bamas DLine rotation as true fr.

You couldnt possibly sound more offensive, ill-informed, and idiotic. I would congratulate you on the troll, but sadly, I'm as sure you're being serious as you are wrong. It's tragic

Who is more idiotic here? Kid has offers to play DT at
Bama
FSU
Aub
UF
UGA
Miami
Mich
Miss State
tOSU
the Ducks
Tenn
TCU
aTm... just to name a few.
And he is going to play OT for us for what reason? If he wants to go be a DT he will go somewhere else. Like I said before it dont matter what we think...
As for my previous response being offensive, If you found that offensive you might ought to find another hobby. Maybe you found it offensive that the best DT we have had in the last 10 yrs was same size as this kid.

Already not stickied?? Insanity

He is a 3-4 DE. Definarely not a nose.

He will play OT in college. everyone of the teams that have offered him as a DT know it and he probably knows it.

Rosenthal may be in for the Devin White treatment.
Does Rosenthal even play OT even more. I thought all he played was defense for a year or two now. White played LB throughout High School.

He played LT and DT last year. Also took some snaps at TE.

Dare said even though he committed to lsu, his recruitment is still open

You. The kid has an offer to play DT, that does not mean it is his preferred position. Most schools realize how raw and athletic he is, and figure that they will offer him as a DT to get him on campus.
Russell Shepard committed to LSU as a DT QB because we were one of the only schools to let him try that position.
Did he ever, ever, take a snap and throw the ball in a game at LSU?
No, we told him he had a spot to compete there. He tried for a year or so, and was buried behind real QB's. So, like the team player he is, he agreed to take snaps at RB, Wildcat, WR and special teams - literally every other offensive skill position except QB.
These teams know Dare is raw, so they will give him a redshirt year, and maybe another year to work out, get in shape, and realize that he is better suited as an OT. The dude is absolutely never a DT. As someone said earlier, best case on the DL he is a 3-4 DE. His build isnt low enough to rock a NG. You need a huge powerful trunk and a low center of gravity with quickness. This kid is more evenly dispersed weight wise and tall as hell. NG would be a terrible fit.
Comparing him to Mt Cody? You may like football and be considered a fan, but that doesnt mean you know what youre talking about. You are one of those guys that just talks louder thinking it makes you sound confident and smarter.
These schools want him on campus, and hope that after having his arse handed to him on the DL, and seeing a favorable depth chart as an OT, that he will see the light.

The End...
Well said, all of it.
I can't wait to see them play this fall as they are close by. Nothing like small town ball with big time talent.

What you said was the truth....
That is all.....
Same thing happened with Cameron Robinson at Ouachita. He started out as a defensive tackle his 7th-9th grade years and was dominate. But, the coaches helped him see the light and he moved to Offensive Tackle his sophomore year at Ouachita and was completely dominate like nothing I have ever seen in high school. He then moved on to West Monroe and learned a new system there before Bama and now Jacksonville.
Rosenthal is very, very similar to Robinson, but he has not had the luxury of playing under two major programs like Ouachita and West Monroe.
A local guy who has close connections to Ferriday has said that he is more athletic than Robinson and just as quick. So, the talent is there to become an all-american left-tackle in college.

Rosenthal is an important signee.
He could eventually combine with Cameron Wire to make a great pair of offensive tackles, though he may get a look at defensive line first.

He may get that look, but the kid has to realize that his future in making bread involves kicking out and using his skills on the Offensive Line.
I'd use that story I just gave about Robinson to persuade him. Cameron was every bit a dominate Defensive Tackle in high school, but he knew he was a pro player and his family did too and understood that the bread would be made on the offensive line.
He will play O-line. That I can guarantee you (speaking about Rosenthal).
