Yeah I've never broken 90. That's my goal this year. However, my mid irons and wedges are the best part of my game. It's the inconsistency off the tee, long irons, and putting that's killed me. I think a soft ball with high spin around the greens would benefit my approach/short game. As long as I'm not losing more than 3 balls a round, I feel ok not buying the cheapest balls.

I didn't mean what I said in a bad way, just trying to be real. I've actually played back to back rounds with a noodle and Z star to test this. Yeah, the stars hold wedge shots better, but off the tee I really don't think there's much difference unless it's a par three with a short iron.
