She watched someone step up on the cliff then told them to jump. They stepped down and she berated them and told them to jump. They said they couldn't she berated them some more and told them to step up and jump. The most disturbing thing to me reading through the texts were when he says another day wouldn't be that bad. That is what could have kept him alive as he worked through whatever it was that was so burdensome on him. Just another day and maybe his meds get straightened out. Just another day and maybe he sees death isn't the answer. This was a young man with troubles that weighed heavily upon him who confided and trusted in her. Who knows if she was the only thing he clung to. I don't absolve him of blame, but he swung open the door that could have saved him and she slammed it back in his face. What she did was absolutely sadistic all so she could get the attention of being the girl whose boyfriend committed suicide.

While this is factually correct. Dude researched his death, attempted suicide several times, each time panicking and changing his mind during the process. While the chicks actions are vile, and reprehensible, he was going to kill himself regardless at some point. She just pushed him over the last time he changed his mind. That's what got her convicted. Had she not said that stuff, and he just killed himself, she walks. And likely wouldn't have been charged. This guy was deeply deeply disturbed and conflicted. He needed serious psychological help. I am not even sure that would have helped him live.

This is why she got convicted.
