Burlington is the quintessential college town. Lines Lake Champlain with terrific views of the Adirondacks. One of the best sunsets you will see. To the east is Mt. Mansfield and Camels Hump. If in Burlington, take a stroll up Church Street.

Couldn't have said it better. Do not miss out on Burlington. Beautiful city, and a sunset walk along the lake is worth the trip.

As for breweries, Abita named some good ones. Foam Brewers is right on the water of Burlington Bay. Draft only right now, but they might have take home product by the time you go.

Burlington Beer Co is about 20 minutes East of there, another fantastic brewery not mentioned yet.

I would recommend late October just as others have said, if you want "fall"

Going for the first time at the end of July when I'm up there for the Vermont Brewers Festival. I can't wait. Heard lots of good things.
