i am stealing this from real gm as this is my exact feeling on ball
at the end of the day i think you will have this
Boston - MF
ione of phi or phx will take fox if left there so sac trades up with the lakers to get fox at 2 and give up the 5 and 10 pick
philly takes jackson
phx takes tatum
lakers take ball at 5
quote:
If Ball never becomes a scorer and never develops a scorers mentality, how can he ever be an all-star, let alone a superstar? I've been really up and down on Ball because I really want to like him, but even without looking at Lavar, I see issues. Yes, he has immense upside and he's an amazing passer in college, but if he doesn't ever reach his upside, what is he? I question his leadership because while it might look good on the court, he never speaks up off the court. He hasn't showed up for combine stuff, he listens to his dad on the shoe thing, he isn't working out for any teams. These are all bad decisions that can be blamed on the agent, but really, when has it seemed like he made his own choice with anything other than passing? I question his handle, I question his half-court offense, his ability to know any understand set plays (because his high school coach was **** terrible and never ran plays/most of the stuff he did in college was on the break. I question his shot, but not much because I think he'll still be able to use it. I question his handle, his mid-range, his defensive ability, his desire to play defense, his strength, and his fire.

i dont want this to come off like i am picking on you or whatever, but that is a pretty awful take
quote:is a beyond elite off ball scorer
If Ball never becomes a scorer
quote:bryce alford and tj leaf has spoken about how great of a leader he was for UCLA all the time. not to mention how the culture of the program was clearly changed the moment he arrived in westwood
I question his leadership because while it might look good on the court, he never speaks up off the court.
quote:this has been common for elite prospects for years
He hasn't showed up for combine stuff
quote:hes 19 and its his dad, the man that raised him. dont see how that is a knock against him
he listens to his dad on the shoe thing
quote:he wants to play for the lakers and that is who he is working out for. once again, dont see how this a problem
, he isn't working out for any teams
quote:you mean like his historically high TS%? or his 90th+ percentile in off ball scoring? or his serviceable off ball defense?
when has it seemed like he made his own choice with anything other than passing?
quote:valid
question his handle
quote:its valid to question his ability to get his own scoring in a half court offense. however, he will do just fine operating as a whole in a half court offense
I question his half-court offense
quote:LOLOLOLOLOLOL yea, the prospect who has shown one of the highest basketball IQs in recent memory will have a difficult time figuring out plays and his role in a NBA offense. yea, right
his ability to know any understand set plays
quote:on midrange jumpers, he shot 50% on the year. he only took 22 of those kind of shots on a college court. but on shots he took from behind the college three point line but within the pro three point line, he shot over 46% on over 125 shots. what does that say? does that say someone who has trouble with scoring in the nba midrange game? or does that say someone understands to get the frick behind the line for a three instead of a long 2?
his mid-range
quote:his on ball defense is suspect. but his offball defense numbers grade out better and he has good size to go with strong instinctual off ball defensive play
his defensive ability, his desire to play defense
quote:valid for now. he has the body to make it work but right now, thats a valid concern
his strength
quote:lol i have no idea why anyone would but whatever
and his fire.

Sacto spits on your trade up. Ball is nowhere near worth this attention. Nice college player. Late first, early 2nd. I fart in ball's general direction.
