behavioral therapist who works with children here, a few things.
Always use rewards over punishment over punishment. Instead of punishing him for biting you want to reward him for not biting. You want to start small and obtainable so first I would want to know how often the biting occurs. Set the initial goal low enough to obatin....maybe one short day at day care without biting and we get (insert whatever your kid would flip for here). After that goal is obtained stretch it. to a few days... a week until the behavior inst occurring. You always wanna decrease the size of the reward until you can fade it out totally. Or instead of fading it out you could replace behaviors..... so if he quits biting and starts acting up, speaking out of turn whatever you can insert that as what he needs to do to get the reward.
The most important thing is making sure he feels success witht his initially so hes motivated to keep acting right... he will build momentum, and make the correct behavior a habit.
