Intel has looked very incompetent lately.

Intel's X299 lineup looks to be incredibly poor with terrible value versus AMD Ryzen and Thread ripper and even has missing features at the moment. Apparently RAID also only works with Intel branded SSD's at launch.
This appears to be part of a larger state of shock Intel is in due to the Ryzen launch. Intel legitimately looks like they were not prepared for this which is a massively incompetent result.
How was Intel this lazy and dumb? Obviously I don't think Intel is gonna be in too much trouble but now they've let AMD back in the game and AMD has no signs of stopping given what they have coming out with Vega, Xbox One X and Raven Ridge around the corner.

Yep, complacency followed by panic.

Glad to have some competition back in the upper end home PC market. I'm ready looking to upgrade in the next 6 months so hopefully price points keep dropping.

Intel is still using shitty thermal paste on their heat spreaders, even on $2000 chips. Meanwhile AMD is soldering their IHS to the die on $300 chips.
Lazy arse Intel.

Thought this was just to do with Optane or the other tech Intel announced last year.
RAID is probably still being handled by an onboard controller.
My biggest issue with Intel at the moment is how they are holding PCIe lanes hostage.

Good. Competition has been lacking in the CPU space.
That said, AMD will frick it up eventually.

ive recently built a Ryzen machine and absolutely love it. got the r5 1600. the ryzen cpus also come with a very nice cooler so that's another bonus to their price point.
ryzen's emergence onto the scene is what prompted me to build. pretty exciting stuff they are doing

I saw you put this in the new build.
What the OC hit? I'm looking at the same CPU for my spare rig upgrade.
