I have a family member that is 22 years old and hasn't even been on a date, no interest in driving, no interest in doing anything outside of video gaming. He is the final child so mom is enabling it. But its an ugly disorder. He's been addicted to video games since about 13.
If your friends care about their son, they will destroy the video game console and ban it. The temporary issues will be rough, but in the long run it will be best.
