I think we will try to go spinning setups and fish lighter lines 30lbs leaders to try and coax some fish out of the hard fished reefs.
Any suggestions on a spinning setup different than what I previously stated?

Watch the forecast. You may want to go, but you don't have to go. The Gulf can occasionally give you all you want, even with a boat like that.
