I still remember going off on s kid in the dugout during a game. I was 11 and our team was losing. The kid said it didn't matter if we lost because his dad said he was going to give each player a dollar at the concession stand after the game (that's? what we did after a game back then, a parent would take turns buying the kids concessions after the game. 50 cents was standard. This high rollers day was going to put up a dollar per kid, win or lose.). I was so pissed.

That loser washed out. Didn't play another season. Probably living in government housing somewhere today.

Some kids want to get better, compete, and play hard. This is why I don't have a problem with travel ball. The issue I do have with travel ball is it should be based on merit, not on some rich arse MFer buying his unathletic kid's way on to the team.
