He didn't "ditch" them, he got away from soccer altogether. It wasn't a "hey, frick you Jurgen" thing, he was burnt out. Look, I get it, it's primadonna as shite to up and leave your job, and if Jurgen would've said then and there that Landon was no longer in the plans, then fine, I could see where he would be coming from. But, no, Jurgen started calling him back up, and all Donovan did was be the best player at the Gold Cup and score against Mexico in the match that clinched a World Cup berth. Hell, Jurgen even gave Donovan the captain's armband for the January Camp match in 2014.

So if the sabbatical shite was the ultimate reason why Donovan was left off, then why the frick did Jurgen call him back into the team?

And how many times do I have to mention Timmy Chandler before you stop ignoring how his call-up to the World Cup completely torpedoes the argument you are trying to make here?
