The fact you think the Chandler situation is the same as LD's made me not want to continue the conversation. The two are not similar at all.
Look, I respect you but it's impossible to have a dissenting opinion over that whole saga around here.
Just for the record and for clarity:
I was not happy that LD was excluded from that team but understood some of his thinking when he made the decision.

I never once said it was the same, I used it as an example to go against your "Jurgen wanted committed players" argument.

It's a message board dude, this means nothing.

Of course it's not the same but you tried to tie that into the conversation anyway...

Because you used a blanket statement with Jurgen wanting committed players.

The situations are not the same. Expecting commitment from the generational face of US Soccer isn't the same as trying to convince a dual citizen that has spent his whole life in Germany and plays in the Bundesliga that also played a position of need for the USMNT at the time, that he should come play for the Yanks.

I just wanted to drop in and say that, even if I don't really have a strong opinion on the matter, you were schooled in this thread.
You never even addressed the mental health aspect. He took all of about nine months away from the game and only missed 3 WC qualifiers of his own volition. Why would you not give the same benefit of the doubt to a player who was rehabbing from an ACL tear? That's a pretty fricked up view of things, if I am being honest.

Im pretty sure I covered this completely. In fact, Jurgen did so as well.
LD has "retired" from soccer only to "come back" how many times?. The USMNT isnt therapy for the those with mental disorders. If he has issues, I wish him godspeed but not on that squad.

Unless you're as petty as Jurgen (almost impossible) or you enjoy sending a deliberately worse team to a World Cup, then there's really no rationalizing his decision to leave LD at home.
I mean one of our five best players was on ESPN in a suit at halftime while Brad fricking Davis was playing key minutes for our squad.
Few things are so completely cut and dry - this is one of those things.
