dated a girl for a while, and while I wasn't the greatest boyfriend, I wasn't a complete dirtbag and never cheated or anything.... well me and the girl started having arguments and she started confronting me about relatively small things I didn't share with her or whole truths... this created mistrust and I think she suspected I was probably cheating as well.... all came to a head and we split up. Come to find out my 'best friend' was backchanneling her info about me all in the name of 'bro I just wanted you to straighten up', all while playing the good guy with her and immediately started sleeping with her... that's the gist.

The breaking point was when she came to me about coming clean on something we had been fighting about. She said 'just tell me the truth and we can get past it' well the only PERSON that knew the info was him. He told me straight up that he had my back and would vouch as my alibi in the matter. So I called him and was like 'look bro, she is wanting me to come clean, I'm going to double down if you promise me you have my back as an alibi', and he promised me he did.... well that night me and her sat down to talk it over, I doubled down, and she told me that the reason she knew I was lying is because my best friend had been telling her for weeks the truth..... he completely through me under the bus. Relationship with her ended right there and I ended my friendship with him..... he could have said 'bro I spilled the beans, and I'd never have doubled down on my bullshite.... he completely went 'hoes before bros' even though we were inseparable since grade school.
