Why would anyone care about the approval ratings for a politician 6 months into a 4 year term?
It's a very subjective rating anyway, and absolutely meaningless in the current time period.
Criticize Trump all you want. There are legitimate things. But this is a sad metric.

For Exec. level electeds (Presidents, Governors, Mayors, etc) approval can be an important proxy- low approvals Execs have virtually no power to pressure legislative bodies
