They could have put a little more effort in trying to humanize Superman to Batman. The Martha scene was not enough and seemed so basic and stupid in the moment of the movie. Any added info or expanded dialogue could have helped that scene.
It's just such a thin twist to this huge plot that either you have to change it to make it more believable or you don't make the movie.
